Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
Worse than mediocre. Had dinner with 4 friends there tonight. I ordered a sirloin steak medium rare. Came out very well done. Had to hunt down a waitress to get her to correct the order. After another 20 minutes, they brought out a steak on a smoking hot iron plate. Everyone else had finished their dinner by then. I had to slide the dinner off to the side until the smoke literally cleared. The steak was still crappy but now all the red potatoes and onions were BURNED BLACK on to the iron plate. Inedible garbage. Nobody working there, including the impish looking assistant manager, gave a damn. NEVER NEVER NEVER APPLEBEE'S AGAIN FOR ME OR ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN TO ME. A Great weekend wrecked by Applebee's.

It's Applebee's and this location is great! I've eaten there several times as it's in my neighborhood and have had no issues. Upon arrival I notice how easy it was to park. It is a traditional Applebee's and there is an outside patio for those who prefer to sit outside. Inside the restaurant is clean. The restrooms were also clean. For drinks, I like to two for one options. I usually have a couple of drafts. The beer is always cold. For food, I usually get the trio appetizer. I prefer the pretzels with the beer cheese dip. The pretzel are soft with a slight crunch and the beer cheese dip is very creamy and compliments the pretzels. I also enjoy the chicken wontons. The chicken has the right amount of spice and flavor and the slaw is always fresh. To complete my trio I have the spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips. The chips and dip are average. For service, the staff was always pleasant. It is my neighborhood Applebee's!

Eaten here a few times. The food is below sub par here every time I've gone.. Server this most recent time was inattentive and it was dead when I went. Would give it 1 star if Applebee's weren't 1 of my fav. Places to eat.

This used to be a decent Applebee's. Not anymore. I dined here today and horrible food. We ordered simple, easy to make items...simply because that's what we were in the mood for. Alas, my son's mac & cheese looked like it had sat under the heat lamps for way too long. My chicken tenders were tiny, overcooked, and mostly tasted of grease. The fries were good and my daughters pasta with melted better was decent. I complained to the server... He was very apologetic and sympathetic. He also shared that he's fairly new to this location and has gotten a lot of similar feedback. The manager didn't come by to check on us. Altho he did have plenty of time to BS with the spouse of a server dining at a nearby table. I just hope that the Applebees on 4th hasn't gone through the same downfall. Avoid - there's too many better choices in this neighborhood.

Applebee's on 66th St. N in St Petersburg, FL was a miserable failure. Went for lunch and had THE worst experience for lunch. We ordered the appetizer sampler and asked to substitute the steak quesadilla towers instead of the cheese quesadilla. Waitress said no, cause it was a meat item. But, the steak quesadilla is one of the selections ????????The manager brought out OUR appetizer sampler to the next table over. Our waitress had to grab it and return it to the kitchen. Worst of all, our food was stale and greasy. I had to basically wave down the manager to say hello. couldn't help but think it was because we were non- white customers :( Kind of made me mad because money is green, not black or white. Hostess at the front didn't even say good bye or thank you. Lacks professional etiquette or just doesn't care or need patrons. Last time we'll be going to Applebee's. Everyone works hard for their money ! Patron another establishment who appreciates you!!!

I pretty much detest Applebee's-subpar food, usually dirty locations and nothing redeeming. When an office requests Applebee's I have to bite my tongue. Today just solidified my disdain for this place. I arrived for CURBSIDE takeout and called the number on the sign. After they said someone would be out to help me, someone did, but she never came to my car. She went to the other car and didn't even acknowledge me. Failure #1. After waiting for 5 min, I decided to go inside to pick up my order. The bartender helped me and she was fine, but not dressed appropriately for work. I don't think Victoria's Secret booty shorts are appropriate for Applebee's, but hey, what do I know. Upon leaving, I encountered an employee sitting right outside the door smoking. This is disgusting and unprofessional. If you are going to take a smoke break, do it out back, not in the sight of guests and do NOT make me have to walk through your cloud of smoke. This whole experience just solidified why Applebee's is on the bottom of my list when it comes to casual chain restaurants.

I have been here a handful of times, (mainly because their kitchen is open later than everywhere else here in the area) and each and every time I have I am reminded as to why I dislike Applebee's. I have eaten inside, as well as taken some "curbside" to go. I've been in before and after their most recent remodeling. It's still the same place it ever was. The service is HORRIBLE (neither the servers nor the bartenders know a thing about good customer service), the food is barely worth the money that you spend (which is fairly inexpensive). I've decided after my most recent stop in, that I will never be returning to this Applebee's.

I mean, it's Applebee's. The food is just okay, but it's like in every other Applebee's in America. It's close to my house, so once in a while I go there. The menus are huge and colorful and full of pics. When in doubts, just point to one. I like pastas the best. I honestly, go more for their 2-4-1 domestic beers and house wines. Love their lava cake and pretzels with cheese as my app.

The worst customer service ever...the female manager with short brown hair was SO RUDE. Don't waste your time or money here. They don't deserve business with the way they treat their customers. Also employees smoking right by the front door when you walk in, not a good look.

Came to this location on 66th Street for a quick dinner on Super Bowl Sunday and were in a little of a rush. We came in and the front hostess was sitting behind the desk in the bar area and after a couple seconds of us standing there she noticed us and came and when we got to our table we sat down, already knowing what we were going to get because we were in a hurry and we waited. And we waited. And we waited. After about 15 min we saw the front hostess seat another family and my parents said if that family gets served before us we are leaving and sure enough a waitress walks over to their table to get the drinks so we got up and were walking out and as we approached the front hostess she smiled and said "have a good night" and we said oh we will, we are leaving because nobody ever waited on us and then walked out. If we ever do go back to Applebee's its the one at Parkside and not on 66th Street. We won't be to that location again.

Got a sitter to go out with husband for a bite to eat just to get a disgusting meal! Chicken was completely raw and steak was well done (asked for medium rare) instantly sick to our stomachs so we asked the manager if we can just pay for our nasty appetizer that was refried and cold (mozzarella sticks) and he asks us if he can personally go back a remake a meal for us?! Really??! NO! The feel of uncooked chicken in your mouth and what it could do to you!? You think we wanted anything else from that kitchen? Would you? Manager brought us the check and made us pay for 2 sodas and appetizer. Then walking out handed us 2 $5 coupons to use next time.... Anyone want them?! Not the first time having a bad meal there and gave them the benefit of the doubt again. Very unprofessional there If you ask us!

I'm really not sure what my servers issue is but she's just not very nice....clearly Noone wants to be here. I haven't seen the staff smile since I walked in the door. I'd say individual names but I'm yet to be introduced. I'm in the service industry isn't that one of the first things you do...? Waited at the bar for a food order after our drinks...20 minutes or so later we moved to a table, took about another 5 to even be acknowledged by another server....just annoying. Hope the food is worth the going on 40 min wait by this point.

This location is average for an applebees. I often come late at night and the food isn't that great. Don't expect much more when it's almost 1am. But I just came for lunch and the food was above average.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
Healthy Food Options at Applebee's
When a restaurant serves ribs as their main dish, then you can assume the diet-friendliness of their menu. Well, Applebee's is no different. You can try the salads, light sandwiches, appetizers to ensure you don't order heavy items, etc. If you are really diet conscious, then you got to be careful with their steaks & ribs as well as desserts section.

This location is clean and neat though not my first choice for lunch or dinner. I went with a friend who happens to like the menu choices at Applebee's and so we went for a Sunday dinner and there was a heavy rainstorm that day. We parked and had to run quickly into the restaurant due to the severe storm and got inside. We were seated right away and I ordered the chicken penne pasta dish which does not come with any sides. My dining companion ate a steak with veggies and baked potato which she enjoyed though could not finish and both our meals were off of the 2 for $20 menu. The pasta was just pleasantly tasty with nothing in the way of flavor to impress me. And I do think that Applebee's could be more generous by offering sides with every entrée on the 2 for $20 list though they don't! Why did my friend's steak include two sides though not my pasta dish? That's just not fair at all in my opinion! We didn't have dessert and just paid the bill and left and overall I would not go out of my way to eat at this Applebee's again and this chain is never my first choice of any of the different restaurant chains out there!
